DESCRIPTION:The Alabama NAACP has partnered with ENUF to commemorate the life\, legacy and last words of the late Congressman John Lewis. The caravan will assemble at the foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma and depart at 1 p.m. to the Alabama State Capitol. Lewis’ last words will be read there beginning promptly at 3 p.m. \n Special guests will include Alabama NAACP President Benard Simelton\, Madison County Commissioner-elect Violet Edwards and Huntsville City Council President Devyn Keith. Arise executive director Robyn Hyden also will speak at the Capitol about our organization’s continued commitment to voting rights. Tables will be set up to register people to vote\, so be sure to have your photo ID available! \n We must continue the good fight\, even when it means getting into “Good Trouble.” Social distancing will be enforced\, as we want everyone to enjoy this event safely. Face masks must be worn at all times.
