DESCRIPTION:Congress is moving ahead aggressively with a budget bill that would reduce or remove food assistance\, health coverage and other vital services for hundreds of thousands of Alabamians who struggle to make ends meet. These cuts would finance the renewal or expansion of tax breaks for wealthy households and highly profitable corporations.\n\nBut it is important to know that this process is not over! We still have time to advocate to defend SNAP\, Medicaid and other programs that help families meet basic needs.\n\nAlabama Arise will host an online briefing for Arise members about the federal policy landscape on Wednesday\, June 4\, from noon to 1 p.m.\n\nRegister here for this free webinar.\n\nOn the webinar\, Arise staff will discuss the dire threats to food assistance under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
